Thrice a week!

I don't know why I didn't think of this before but I recently had the brilliant idea to go to a Monday, Wednesday, Friday update schedule with eat shit on Monday, a short story on Wednesday, and an on-going comic on Friday. So look for a new Curious Urgency this Friday.
(How do I do three comics simultaneously? -- I'm that good (we'll see)).

I've been a die-hard manga hater since I was a kid and was traumatized by the anime Unico --but I was recently clicking around looking for a new graphic novel to read and was at a loss. It seems I've read every western graphic novel worth reading. While searching a came across Akira again. I was coerced into watching the movie in cartoon-college and couldn't get through it - anime is unwatchable to me. I was aware of how great it was supposed to be ( and had always liked the cover and even chose Akimbo as a title for my own comics because it could be made to look kinda like Akira ) but had a heretofore insurmountable prejudice to all things manga. While re-reading the accolades and copious praise and with other options seemingly at nil I checked it out. Immediately I was impressed with the storytelling and the techniques used to convey the speed and excitement of the motorcycles racing down a deserted highway at night. It was pretty tight. The story seemed a little cliche -- the overbearing bad guy and legions of flunkies -- but the storytelling was really superb. I ate through all 360 pages of volume one in one sitting.

new nin

Photobucket
I have to mention this: master of the internets Josh Sandoval informed me nine inch nails has a new intrumental album available on the web in rainbows-style and so I downloaded it yesterday. Kick-ass album and you get to stick it to the man, as Josh says.

New Format!

Photobucket
Josh Sandoval at work (who, were I to cast him in a movie of my life, would be played by Michael Cera) pointed out that the design of my website (which I loved) was confusing - especially to first-time visitors and casual browsers - and so - in the hope of reducing the percentage of visitors who only spend 0-30 seconds at my site from 75 to something less heartbreaking - I've decided to put eat shit and die on the main page from now on. Josh says that people looking for a webcomic would click on the old format and think "what the fuck is this?" and then click on. I don't want that. Also - the comics list on the right side is apparently unclear and so now I have links at the top to descriptions of the comics. Better? 75% and counting...

buffer-free zone

Photobucket
The new Bob & Bob page isn't even close to being ready. I used to have a buffer of about five to ten pages - done in advance - but when the site went down I lost my buffer. Now I'm working two jobs and time is tight - so it's seconds of shit this week. I'm thinking of updating a row at a time rather than a whole as-if-it-were-printed comics page and thereby be able to update Tues. Wed. Thur. and Fri. What do you think - is this a good idea or should I keep things how they are?

shit's early

badcrushsmall
Look how early this update is - I think I'm awesome. S-dubs at work today told me she didn't like stories about shitting - and this has inspired me -- 101 stories about shitting - a new project - because stories about shitting are my favorite stories. We'll see how it goes.
